  • Mirror’s Edge was a game with a great idea: first-person parkour. Depending on who you ask, it was either successful experiment or a failed one. I picked it up through the Humble Origin Bundle and wasn’t that impressed, which is too bad because I really wanted to like it. Your (linear) paths aren’t always clear and jumping onto pipes/edges is a fickle process. But they’re making a new one, so maybe they’ll be able to iron out the issues.
  • I would very like that to have that GameStop promotional bag, though.

Limited edition Zelda 3DS & Earthbound labels for… NES controllers? ⊟

This is weird but neat (a common theme for our site): that gold/black design Nintendo used for its limited edition Zelda 3DS and Wii U systems can now be purchased as a skin for an NES controller. There’s also a Mother/Earthbound design — red buttons/pad presumably not included!

GamerGrafx says the peel and stick decals are “precision cut to the exact dimensions of the original NES controller” and feature “a weatherproof glodd polyester material.” The labels are $9.99 each.

  • Can’t cap off today’s theme without looking at Killer7: probably the best game to come out of Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda51. I was hoping to find the commercial for this game (which I have recalled seeing a long time ago) but instead we’ll have to settle for this early Japanese trailer.Note some of the stuff not seen in the game’s final version.

    Also, y’know what Capcom? House of the Dead: OVERKILL recently made a jump to PC. Mixed results, but the concept is there. Think we can get an HD re-release in the future? Can put it on PS4 and WiiU too…
